Each of us has a destiny to fulfil, that destiny is to ‘just be you’, and be the best possible you. Yogi Bhajan’s mission was to empower people to become more aware of the universality of their own identities and free themselves from suffering. He gave us Kundalini Yoga, a powerful and transformative practice to cut through the layers and bring our true self, our divine authenticity and radical self out.

He never talked directly about being queer, but taught about elevating ones consciousness to create harmony with all the different parts and polarities within us. When there is little self-awareness and imbalance of the polar parts, we are in conflict, and this creates duality. For most of us queers, this duality, conflict has come mostly from the outside: our misguided parents, bullied by peers, judged and shamed. This causes duality within. Deep down we know we are all apart of a bigger picture of consciousness that we share with humanity, but it’s hard sometimes to stay true to ourselves with this outside pressure.

Although the times are changing, there is still an imbalance within and without. So, we’ve formed Australia’s first ever Queeralini. Were Queer and we practice kundalini. The idea was born from the Rainbow Sangat in Espanola, New Mexico, an international Queer LGBTQIA+ identifying community that comes together to uplift, support and live a more conscious lifestyle through the teachings of kundalini yoga.

On 16th June, we invite all queer men, women and others to come together to support one another, grow our conscious connections and unlock our true potential. With kundalini yoga we can cut through the layers of fear and doubt of ourselves and others, so we can be the best versions of ourselves, and become boundless, truly authentic, and an embodiment of love and compassion.

If you're a student, concession card holder of any kind or experiencing financial difficulties but would like to attend. Please email us at info@kundaliniyogacollective.org.au so that we may assist you.
