What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga & Meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a powerful technology of transformation. Kundalini Yoga can help you let go of fear and anxiety, relieve depression and release unconscious blocks so that you can reach your full potential and live a happy and healthy life.

In each class you will experience a combination of movement, breath and sound to bring a greater sense of well being, self awareness and vitality.

Classes and events are open to all levels of experience.

About KYC

The Kundalini Yoga Collective (KYC) was established in 2013 as Australia’s first not-for-profit yoga organisation to offer community spaces where KY teachers can teach, feel connected and be of service to the community.

Vision and Mission

Our mission is to make the benefits of Kundalini Yoga and meditation accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, beliefs, physical condition or socio-economic background. It’s yoga for community by community. KYC’s vision is to create one united community of KY teachers across the world, a community that supports each other and serves from the heart.

We established KYC as a not-for-profit organisation based on this vision and as a group of passionate Kundalini Yoga teachers ready to serve and uplift all.

We are currently working towards attaining Charity status – being a charity will help to facilitate partnerships with other organisations and this will be vital for the growth and development of KYC’s Community Outreach Programs. By offering the teachings outside of our studio spaces and in the community, we can achieve our mission to make the benefits of Kundalini Yoga accessible to everyone.

As we are a registered not-for-profit Association we are subject to the operating rules set by Government and as stated in our Constitution. Currently, no single teacher member can receive a salary from KYC, however members can receive a fee in exchange for classes or workshops they teach (we call these, community service payments).

The teacher’s membership payments help cover our annual operating costs overall, including: website, administrative support, marketing, online promotions and insurance.

We are governed by a committee and all major operating decisions for KYC are made by group consensus – it’s the Aquarian way!

Currently you’ll find KYC members, classes and events located across Newtown, Northern Beaches, Hornsby, Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Melbourne.  As we grow in teacher membership, we hope to serve you in many more communities across Sydney and beyond!
